Lapidary is the art and craft of cutting, shaping and polishing rough stones or minerals and turning them into beautiful creations that can be used as jewellery or ornaments. In the oldest club of its type in Britain, our aim is to ‘encourage an interest in natural minerals and craftsmanship related to them, on a non-commercial basis’.

Visitors can view these skills as Members (from 10 to 90+) prepare stones, facet gemstones or do silverwork during the normal working week.

Display areas show examples of Members’ work, part of the 3000+ Mineral Collection and a comprehensive Library collection.

Daily daytime sessions: 10:30am – 4pm from Saturday 11th – 18th June 2022

Evening sessions: 7pm – 9:30pm from Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th & Friday 17th June 2022.

NB: No evening session on Thursday 16th June
